What people ask before they claim a page.
What is GradGallery?
GradGallery is a free digital yearbook for Ethiopian university graduates. Every graduate gets their own page with their photo, their class, and short signed notes from classmates, and each graduating class unlocks a 3D yearbook it can turn page by page once enough of the roster has joined.
Is GradGallery free?
Yes, GradGallery is free for graduates. Claiming your page, uploading photos, signing a classmate's page and reading your class yearbook cost nothing.
How do I claim my graduate page?
Search your name on the claim page, confirm the class it belongs to, and sign in with Google. If a class representative already imported your roster, your page is waiting for you rather than needing to be created, which is how the site avoids two pages for one person.
Why does a page with my name already exist?
A class representative or school authority imported your class roster, which creates an unclaimed placeholder page for every name on it. The page holds nothing but your name until you claim it, and claiming it makes you its owner. Nobody else can claim it once you have.
How does verification work?
Verification on GradGallery is peer vouching: classmates who are already verified confirm that a page belongs to the person it names, and a page turns verified once enough of them do. No school approval is needed to start, so a class can verify itself from the inside.
How does a class unlock its 3D yearbook?
A class unlocks its 3D yearbook when enough of its graduates have claimed their pages - 10 by default, set per class when the class portal is created. The book is built from that class's own graduates, its own photos and its own signatures, so no two classes get the same book.
How is Photo of the Year decided?
Likes are the vote. A photo enters the Photo of the Year race the moment it is posted, the leaderboard is public while the race is open, and whichever photo holds the most likes when the race closes wins. There is no separate ballot and no judging panel.
Can people comment on my page?
No, GradGallery has signatures instead of comments: a classmate leaves one short signed note, the way they would write in a paper yearbook. There is no open comment thread on any page, and that is a deliberate choice rather than a missing feature.
How many photos can I put on my page?
You start with 8 photo slots and can earn up to 20. Each classmate who claims their page from your invite link earns you one more slot, and a second when they get verified.
Do I need to install an app?
No, GradGallery runs in the browser and installs to your home screen from there if you want it as an app. It's built for a cheap Android phone on a weak network, and the 3D yearbook falls back to a flat swipeable reader on phones that can't render it.
Does GradGallery work in Amharic?
Yes, GradGallery works in Amharic. Names and text in Ge'ez render correctly across the site, including on the share cards and the 3D yearbook covers, and the interface leaves room for Ge'ez script rather than assuming English word lengths.
How do I delete my page or my data?
Open your account page and use the delete option, which removes your profile, your photos, your uploads and the signatures you received, not just your login. You can also export everything as a JSON file from the same page before you delete it.
