GradGallery is a digital yearbook for Ethiopian university graduates. This page explains what we store, why your name might already be here before you’ve signed up, and how to get it taken down.
What we store
When you sign in.Sign-in goes through Google, which gives us your name, email address, and profile picture. We also keep a session record while you’re signed in, including your IP address and browser, so we can keep you logged in and spot abuse.
Your page. Your name and class, plus anything you choose to add: a short story, a quote, links to your social accounts, and photos.
What you do here.Signatures you leave on other people’s pages, photos you like, invites you send, reports you file, and feature requests you post.
Why a page can exist before you sign up
A class representative or a school can paste a class list into GradGallery. Every name on that list becomes an empty page waiting for the person it belongs to. We call these unclaimed pages, and they exist so that when you arrive you find your own page instead of creating a second one next to it.
An unclaimed page holds only what the class list provided:
- Your name and which class you graduated with, both of which are shown publicly.
- An email address, if the list included one. This is never shown to anyone. Its only use is sending you one invitation to claim the page.
Nobody else can claim your page for you, and an unclaimed page holds no photos, no story, and nothing you didn’t write. If you don’t want a page, you can have it removed without signing up: open the page and use the remove option on it.
Who can see it
Pages, photos, signatures, and likes are public. That’s the point of a yearbook, and you should assume anything you put on your page can be seen and shared by anyone. The exceptions are your email address, your session records, and reports you file, none of which are shown publicly.
Who else handles your data
- Google handles sign-in. We never see your password.
- Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded photos and our nightly database backups.
- Resend sends claim invitations. This is switched off today, so no invitation emails are currently going out.
We don’t track you. There is no analytics package, no advertising network, and no third-party tracking script anywhere in this app, and we don’t sell or rent anything we store.
How long we keep it
We keep your page and what you’ve posted for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account from your account page. Deleting it removes your personal details and returns your page to the unclaimed state it started in, so your class list stays intact without your information in it.
Deleting your account also removes the signatures you left on other people’s pages, and the signatures friends left on yours. Photos you added to a class album or to someone else’s page stay, since they’re part of that group’s record, but your name comes off them.
Backups are kept for a limited period and then overwritten, so deleted data can persist in a backup for a short time after it leaves the live site.
Children
GradGallery is for university graduates and isn’t intended for children.
